Budget and Planning
The mission of the Niles District Library is to provide our community with access and guidance to resources that inform, entertain, and enrich. Our vision provides us with clear direction and motivation, because we see our library as building a community of life-long learners who will make Niles their life-long home. As we plan for the future, we intend to capitalize on the unique value we bring to our community. Board Meetings
The Library Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5 pm at the library in the Community Room. The meetings of the Board of Trustees are subject to the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, which provides for regulated public participation. > Meeting Minutes
Board of Trustees
The Niles District Library is governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees; trustees serve four-year terms without compensation. The City of Niles Council and the Niles Township Board each appoints four board members, who must be registered and qualified to vote in the Library district. Persons meeting these qualifications may apply for consideration for membership by completing a Board Membership Application .
